I went to Kamuykotan for bouldering the other day. It’s been 2 years since I visited there last time.
It was really refreshing to surround myself with the rich nature.
First, I went to try some problems in the area called “Kenji Komoro.”
This boulder area has many difficult problems ranging from 2 kyu (6C) to 4 dan (8A+). It also has a famous problem, “Habu (7B+),” first sent by Mr. Yuji Hirayama.

I tried some problems such as “Turbo-charged (7A)” and “Habu,” but I couldn’t send it at all and was totally defeated. I was able to send only “AKR (6C),” which is the last part of Habu, just once after about 20 tries. I was really happy to send this problem as it’s been a long time.
Next, I moved to the “Ryozanpaku” area. It’s been 2 years since I visited this area last time. I tried some problems that I was trying a few years back. I was able to send a few of them (although the way I climb is not smooth), so I’m just gonna post videos of those problems as a record.

I also tried a traverse problem, but I was totally defeated. I felt I really wanted to come back here again though.
It was my first visit to Kamuykotan in two years, but the weather was great, and the wind was quite comfy, which made it a very pleasant visit.
When I closed my eyes while lying on the crash pad, I could hear the chirping of insects and birds, as well as trees swaying in the wind.
When I opened my eyes, there was a caterpillar beside me, which also made me feel the great nature here.
The approach from the parking lot to the bouldering areas takes about 15 to 20 minutes, but it is actually fun since it is just like a short hike while enjoying the beautiful nature.
If you’ve never been to climb in Kamuykotan, it might be an idea to spend some time hiking/climbing there.
After climbing, I always buy and drink the refreshing and tasty “Shiso Juice (Shiro leaf = perilla)” at “Minamiyama Shoten (Store)” next to the parking lot to finish the day at Kamuykotan.
