In contrast to yesterday’s rain, it’s sunny and pleasant today in Bibai.
Since the weather is so nice, it makes me wanna go bouldering outdoors.
Today, I would like to introduce some of the 5 kyu (V0+) grade problems on the bouldering wall at the Bibai City Sports Center.
Those who have climbed most of the 6 kyu grade will advance to the next level, 5 kyu, but the difficulty level is increasing considerably, so it will be completely different from the problems up to the 6 kyu grade.
Let’s start with the Problem No. 2.

* スタート = Start hold ゴール = Top hold 足 = Foot hold
This problem consists of climbing to the top right and stretching up at the end to take the top hold.
Some holds are a little difficult to hold, and in some sections, you may need some reachy moves and diagonal moves (a posture where the outstretched hand and the opposite leg are stretched, with the side of your body on the stretched hand side touches the wall). Climbers who mainly try 6 kyu problems will find it challenging so that they will feel 5 kyu problems are definitely one level higher.
Since this problem itself is long, I think the fulfillment that you feel when you send this problem will also be great.
The next one is Problem No. 4.

Although this problem involves a direct climb, the shapes and angles of holds make them difficult to grab, so if you don’t take each move firmly, you will fall.
Since it is necessary use your core to climb without leaving the wall, it may be a problem that feels a little like outdoor boulder.
The next one is Problem No. 5.

This problem is a little special. After traversing to the right, you need to climb up, but the holds are small overall, so you will need some good crimping strength (finger power). If you can send this problem, I think you can try 4 kyu (V2) grade problems. This problem is that much difficult.
The next one is Problem No. 7.

This problem is a little technical because some moves such as undercling and deadpointing will be needed. In particular, the undercling move at the second half part requires a lot of power, so this is a problem that gives the impression that this is Bibai’s 5 kyu level problem!
The last one is Problem No. 100.

This problem requires not only sloper strength but also crimping strength.
Depending on the climber, there will be some moves that need to jump to grab a crimpy hold, and there are few sections that can be used for resting, so this problem requires continuous powerful moves, which makes the difficulty level high. If you can send this problem, you can confidently say that you have sent a hard (difficult) 5 kyu level problem in Bibai.
These are some of the 5 kyu grade problems.
Please try these problems when you come to climb the Bibai Walls.
